Los Rakas - Rakata!!!
Panamanian Reggae from the Bay Area??? That's right, more then a decade after El General's "Pum Pum" and "Te Ves Buena" introduced the world to Reggae en EspaƱol a duo hailing from Oakland has taken up the torch. With a bilingual combination of Reggae and Hip Hop these guys are taking the road less traveled in avoiding the "reggaeton" label. Although songs like "Cuerpo en Fuego" is an attempt at pop reggaeton, Los Rakas are able to stay above any such labels.

Maleco discussing music, culture and meeting in the middle
Wow it's been a minute since I've posted anything. Things have been a bit busy.
Anyhow I'm back and I've got plenty of things to share....
Recently the Maleco Collective was in town, and during their brief time in NYC they stopped by top Hispanic Ad Agency Globalhue Latino. The guys answered a few questions and had a little discussion regarding music, culture, and how Latinos in the U.S. strive to meet somewhere in the middle....Warning: the sound is a little wonky at times, so keep your finger on the volume button ;)
